Emmanuel
God with us: a night of choirs, candles and a manger under the stars.
- O Come, All Ye Faithful
- Silent Night
- Joy to the World

MOSHIA is a carol service at heart: the choirs, the candles and the songs everyone knows by heart. The story is told between the carols.
You don’t just watch MOSHIA, you sing it. The drama moves the story on, and the carols let the whole amphitheatre answer.
Processional
The choir walks in by candlelight singing O Come, All Ye Faithful.
The promise
A people waiting in the dark.
Everyone sings
O Little Town of Bethlehem, with the words on the screens.
The road
Kings, shepherds and a census.
Candlelight
Silent Night. Every candle in the amphitheatre goes up.
The light
The Saviour is born.
Finale
Joy to the World, sung by the whole amphitheatre.
Years of carols led to this one. A look back at the nights, the themes and the songs.
The carols we sing together. Open one for the words, or tap Sing along for a line at a time.
O come, all ye faithful, joyful and triumphant,O come ye, O come ye to Bethlehem.Come and behold Him, born the King of angels;O come, let us adore Him,O come, let us adore Him,O come, let us adore Him, Christ the Lord.
Joy to the world, the Lord is come!Let earth receive her King;Let every heart prepare Him room,And heaven and nature sing,And heaven and nature sing,And heaven, and heaven, and nature sing.
Hark! the herald angels sing,“Glory to the newborn King;Peace on earth, and mercy mild,God and sinners reconciled!”Joyful, all ye nations, rise,Join the triumph of the skies; With th’angelic host proclaim,“Christ is born in Bethlehem!”
Silent night, holy night,All is calm, all is brightRound yon virgin mother and child.Holy infant so tender and mild,Sleep in heavenly peace,Sleep in heavenly peace.
O holy night! The stars are brightly shining,It is the night of our dear Saviour’s birth.Long lay the world in sin and error pining,Till He appeared and the soul felt its worth.A thrill of hope, the weary world rejoices,For yonder breaks a new and glorious morn.Fall on your knees! O hear the angel voices!O night divine, O night when Christ was born.
The first Noel the angel did sayWas to certain poor shepherds in fields as they lay;In fields where they lay keeping their sheep,On a cold winter’s night that was so deep.Noel, Noel, Noel, Noel,Born is the King of Israel.
O little town of Bethlehem,How still we see thee lie!Above thy deep and dreamless sleepThe silent stars go by.Yet in thy dark streets shinethThe everlasting Light; The hopes and fears of all the yearsAre met in thee tonight.
Angels we have heard on highSweetly singing o’er the plains,And the mountains in replyEchoing their joyous strains.Gloria in excelsis Deo!Gloria in excelsis Deo!
I came for the drama and left humming Silent Night for a week.
